URBANINFLUENCE
The winter ’05 promo from urbanINFLUENCE was a classic gift with
handcrafted details and a cheeky twist. What started as an elegant idea
quickly turned into full-time slave labor as staÙers hand cut and glued
metal labels on over 200 bottles of Melville Winery’s finest pinot noir.
Enclosing the wine in leather-tied, handcrafted wooden
enclosures, urbanINFLUENCE gave the bottles an unexpected
presentation. To balance the sumptuous delivery with
wit, the designers laser etched satirical copy into the front of
the wine enclosures. Including an explanation of the gesture
and suggested uses for the wine, the text banished the need for
an accompanying holiday card—the packages were signed by
each contributing member of urbanINFLUENCE … as if the
long month of torturous manual labor spent creating these gifts
wasn’t personal enough.
