Moon’s relationship with Qantas since 2002 has delivered an extensive program of design deliverables across the corporation’s complex brand hierarchy, creating a coherent and consistent set of brand communications that articulate the Qantas experience.
MOON DESIGN
Sydney-based Moon Design is recognized as one of Australia’s leading creative
brand and design consultancies. The business was originally established
by the Omon advertising agency in 1991, becoming an independent
company as New Moon in 1997, and later renamed Moon Design in 1999.
Today, the business employs 40 design professionals working in design and
advertising, production, strategy, client services, and account management.
Moon’s creative team consists of 15 designers, a senior writer,
and a strategy director. The business has intentionally adopted
a traditional advertising model with a strategist/planner and
writer in place to validate design’s importance in competently
delivering brand communications.
“One of the major challenges in the last five years,” says managing
director Stuart O’Brien, “has been moving design from its
historical relevance in packaging and print work, to growing an
understanding of its ability to communicate a brand across all
customer touch points.”
Clients such as Qantas, Westfield, Sydney Symphony, Sydney
Theatre Company, Seafolly, BT Financial, and fashion names
such as Australia’s Trent Nathan and U.S. brand Van Heusen
demonstrate the scope and quality of design expertise for which
Moon has become recognized.
“Moon’s cultural mix of creativity, intelligence, personality,
and people is key to our ability to deliver the kind of design
projects we do,” O’Brien says.
