Gotused.com is the home site for a network of approximately 150 college
bookstores. It changes entirely every year. “It needs to stay fresh for
a market that is always looking for the next thing,” says designer Clint!
Runge. With fresh in mind, he sets out to create the perfect lure and hook
for college students.
One of the most glittery lures devised by Archrival is a sweepstakes
students can enter to win prizes no one would expect from a
site promoting bookstores.
“One year we gave away a pimped-out van,” Runge says. “Last
year it was a trip to The Price is Right, and this year we’re holding
the first National Collegiate Rock Paper Scissors Tournament,
officially sanctioned by the World RPS Society. We are holding
tournaments in college towns across the country. The winner and
his or her ‘trainer’ will be sent to Miami’s South Beach, for the
Nationals and one heck of a party.”
Runge says the thought process behind the site’s design was
simple: “Make it desirable,” he says. “Because buying textbooks
is normally a dreary and wallet-busting experience. GotUsed can
