Using a customized version of Scriptographer designed by Thirst’s John
Pobojewski, Rick Valicenti applies wit to a fresh typographic visual entitled
“Happy Gone Lucky.”
The poster was created as AIGA Miami’s announcement of a lecture
by Valicenti. Six bright colors belong to the stereotypical
Miami (Vice) palette and deliver a densely overlapped line gesture.
Providing proof that design doesn’t have to be a cerebral, over thought
or dogmatic process, Valicenti says of his experiment, “It
is just nice to look at from a distance and up real close. Sometimes
design should be innovative eye candy, as long as it is also a knowing,
tasteful nod to our shared graphic traditions.” by Sheree Clark
